Aerial Filming

Why choose PDG Helicopters for aerial filming?

PDG Helicopters has a long history of aerial filming dating back over 40 years, our continued investment in technology allows us to offer the best range of camera systems in Europe. We are an official CAA licensed operator for public transport. For reasons of safety, performance and comfort we only operate gas-turbine engined aircraft, all maintained to exacting standards in our our extensive engineering facilities.
Our large fleet of AS350 single engine squirrel helicopters and AS355 twin engine squirrel helicopters provide the power, comfort and stability that make them the best available aerial platform for filming.

During the past 5 years we have invested over £1.7 million in camera system technology, all of our systems are gyro-stabilized and nose mounted on the aircraft using EASA approved mounting systems.
Our team are here to help and advise you on all aspects of aerial filming, from the type of aircraft or camera to use to amazing filming locations.
PDG Helicopters are approved suppliers to BBC, ITV, STV and Sky TV
Whatever your requirement we have the experience, enthusiasm and professionalism to deliver the highest standards in aerial filming.

Safety

No other company takes safety more seriously than PDG.
All our aircraft are maintained to the highest standards, they are thoroughly checked before and after every flight. Our pilots are highly experienced professionals, they also are subject to regular checks to ensure they meet high standards required in commercial aviation. Our operations department work closely with our pilots and the CAA for flight planning, special exemptions and safety support.
Every flight is risk assessed for safety and the aircraft equipped to suit the task, this may include aircraft floats, passenger immersion suits and life jackets.

Flight crew

Its no use having great aircraft and amazing camera systems without the right crew. Our pilots and camera operators are some of the best in the business with thousands of hours aerial filming experience that regularly work together as a ‘unit’.

Facilities

Our range of support facilities include remote location refuel (barrel or bowser), fire safety crew, aircraft engineering and camera support technicians all available anywhere in the UK!
