Thermal Imaging Several helicopter companies offer thermal imaging facilities but only PDG have Flir trained, qualified thermographers operating a Polytech Kelvin 350 dual sensor camera system.
Gone are the days that engineers had to study hours of video tape watching for hot spots and then having to guess how severe any problem may be. Our specially developed thermal image system offers more than any other airborne system thanks to it's ability to accurately read temperatures of whatever it sees via an on board computer running Flir radiometric software. In-flight, the operator views the live streaming data on both a video screen and computer display which allows for instant analysis of all possible faults and provides an instant reaction to any serious problems, the operator places a cross-hair on the object and with a click of a mouse can read the object's temperature, totally unique in the UK. The system is extremely flexible and so can be used for a wide range of tasks from power line thermal image surveys to roof insulation surveys. Post-flight data is delivered in the form of easily managed PDF reports or of course the old fashioned way, on video tape! The overall result enables our customers to prioritize their maintenance and target genuine faults without the guess work! Sample PDF thermal report Camera specifications NEWS!
